Judas Iscariot "the demon"

Biblical evidence points to the fact that Judas was a demon rather than possessed by the devil

Judas Iscariot “the demon”

Jesus when referring to his disciples calls Judas –a devil.

“Jesus answered them “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil. He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray him, being one of the twelve” (John 6:70-71)

“Diablos” – Satan

Jesus is quite specific that Judas is a demon as distinct from a human being. The word used by Jesus is the Greek word “diablos”.

This word appears 35 times in the New Testament and on each occasion except this one, it describes Satan.

It is never used to describe a human being.

Was Judas simply possessed?

Jesus, at all times, knew the true identity of Judas (John 6:64) and he knew that Judas was no ordinary demon.
Jesus would have used the Greek word “Diamon” to describe a demon of lower rank.
Furthermore, if Jesus thought that Judas was human but was “possessed” by Satan he would doubtless have used the Greek word “daimonizomai”. But he didn’t.

There is no reason to doubt that Jesus knew Judas was a demon and that he was none other than the Antichrist.

Both Judas Iscariot and the Antichrist are Betrayers
  • Both Judas Iscariot and the Antichrist are characterised by their respective acts of “Betrayal”.
  • In the case of Judas he betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver (Matthew 26:14-15)
  • The Antichrist will enter into a covenant with Israel. He will later break that covenant and betray Israel. (Daniel 9:27)

Their shared character supports the contention that they are one and the same.

The “Son of Perdition”
  • In his second letter to the Church at Thessalonica the Apostle Paul refers to The Antichrist as “The son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2 v 3)
  • Jesus in his prayer recorded in John 17 refers to Judas Iscariot as “The son of perdition” (John 17 v12). Jesus could have referred to him as “A” son of perdition – but he didn’t. He called him “The” Son of Perdition.

It would therefore appear that Judas Iscariot and the Antichrist are one and the same being.

Both Jesus and Judas died on the same day- in the same way, and in the same place
  • Both Jesus and Judas Iscariot completed their respective ministries on the very same day. Judas’ work was completed early on that Good Friday morning, the moment he betrayed Jesus to the Jewish religious authorities (Luke 22:47-48). Jesus, later that same day, uttered the immortal words “it is finished” (John 19:30).
  • They both died on the very same day – Jesus on the cross and Judas by suicide.
  • They both died hanging on a tree. (Matthew 27:5, Matthew 27:35)
  • They both died outside the city walls of Jerusalem

I have already pointed out the Antichrist mimics or shadows the Christ and it is no coincidence that Judas (or The Antichrist) should die on the same day in the same way.

Judas goes to his “own place”
  • Jesus told the “dying thief” that they would both meet again, that very day, in paradise. (Luke 23:43) In Luke Chapter 16 Jesus told the story of a Rich Man, and a Poor man named Lazarus. Both died and Lazarus was assigned to Paradise (expressed as Abraham’s bosom) whilst the Rich Man was assigned to Hades (Hell). Jesus was making the point that those who accept and receive his salvation will, when they die, be assigned to Paradise, and those who do not, will be assigned to Hades.
  • Judas, however, when he committed suicide was not assigned to either Paradise or Hades but “To his own place” (Acts 1:25). This adds to the evidence that he was not a human being – but a “demon”.  Where is “his own place”? Most demons are presently incarcerated in the “Abyss” (otherwise known as the bottomless pit) (Luke 20:2).
  • When the Antichrist returns to earth he will ascend from the “Abyss” (Revelation 17:8)

Since Judas appears to enter the Abyss and as the Antichrist will ascend from the Abyss, it seems likely that Judas and the Antichrist are indeed one and the same.
